1 practical takeaway
1 dose of art

If your biggest business challenges are actually people challenges, you’re in the right place.

1 Real Story

I was at a wedding last summer, chatting with a friend I’ve known for 55 years.

Yes, 55.

She told me she’s been reading my newsletter.

And if I’m honest…

it usually feels like I’m sending it into a black hole.

I see the open rates. They’re strong.
I get a few kind messages every week.

I appreciate every single one of them.

But still… I wonder:

Is this actually landing?

Is it helping anyone?

That one comment turned into something much deeper.

What started as a casual catch-up shifted into a deep conversation about what was actually going on in her life.

The kind of conversation you don’t have in a crowded wedding reception.

The kind that deserves time, space, and attention.

We ended up scheduling time to talk properly.

And it reminded me of something too easy to forget:

Even after decades apart, that shared foundation… those 12 years of growing up together… still mattered.

It was still there.

That time spent created a lasting connection.

1 Leadership Insight

We measure impact by what we can see:

➡️ Responses
➡️ Metrics
➡️ Immediate feedback

But most impact doesn’t show up that way.

It’s quiet.
It’s delayed.
It shows up later, somewhere else, in a conversation you didn’t expect.

The same is true in leadership.

A comment you make.
A piece of feedback.
The way you show up for someone.

You may not see the effect right away.

That doesn’t mean it didn’t land.

1 Practical Takeaway

If you know you’re showing up with intention, don’t let the silence fool you.

1️⃣ Keep saying the thing that needs to be said
2️⃣ Keep doing the work that matters
3️⃣ Keep showing up consistently

Because impact isn’t always visible.

That doesn’t make it any less real.

You don’t always get to see the ripple.

But that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

And sometimes, years later, in the middle of a wedding reception…

You find out it was.
