Plant the seed

1 Real Story
Someone recently wrote in a post, “your Target Company List isn’t a prison.”

I laughed to my self and replied to the post with something like, “A prison’s kinda dark. I like to think of it as a seed — you plant it, let it take root, and before long it’s branching out, sprouting connections, ideas, and opportunities. It just takes time, and depending on the species, it’ll bear fruit when it’s ready.”

1 Leadership Insight
Leadership works the same way. You can’t rush growth — and you definitely can’t fake it. When people put on their ‘work self’ like a uniform, they’re performing, not progressing. They stop developing — their people, their company, and themselves.

And that’s when growth stalls.

You can’t bifurcate who you are from how you lead. Every personal experience — the wins, the worries, the what-was-I-thinking moments — adds to your leadership soil, if you let it.

When you show up as one integrated person, your roots go deeper. You build trust faster. People know exactly who they’re following.

Authenticity isn’t a buzzword; it’s the foundation of sustainable growth and psychological safety — the key to trust.

1 Practical Takeaway

Leaders who bifurcate themselves eventually burn out.

Authentic leaders — who lead with the same curiosity, clarity, and humanity they live with — create cultures that thrive.

So plant the seed.
Show up the same way everywhere — you be you.

That’s when the good stuff starts to grow.
